The Art of Mark J. Norton

Welcome to my digital art gallery. I'm not a professional artist, but I've used painting, drawing, and many other kinds of artistic endevours as a creative outlet for most of my life. I was seriously interested in becoming an artist when I was in my senior year of high school, but wiser heads guided me toward engineering instead. The advice was that you can always create art in your spare time, but engineering will give you a better career. So engineering (software, in particular) is what I do for work. Here is what I do for fun.

I've collected a variety of watercolor paintings into this gallery showing various styles, subject matter, places, etc.

Digital artwork is rapidly overtaking my passion for painting watercolors. Not the cheapest of media, but it is less messy. Included in this gallery are digital paintings created with Photoshop, Poser, Bryce, and Painter.

I've also dabbled in acrylics from time to time. A few paintings of that type are included by way of contrast.
